Battery separators firm Entek has announced that Dr Graeme Fraser-Bell is coming out of retirement to focus on the US firm’s increasing presence in the lithium battery market.
The former vice-president of international sales has been persuaded to return to ‘active duty’ as a result of a significant increase in demand for Entek’s expanding catalogue, especially its coated separators.
Fraser-Bell (pictured) returns as the company’s European vice-president of sales and market development. He was instrumental in solidifying the company’s foothold in the lithium-ion separator market before his retirement in 2012.
Dr Richard Pekala, CTO for Entek said: “The unprecedented growth in demand for lithium battery separators required us to appoint someone who could focus solely on our lithium battery materials offering, and we were very fortunate that Graeme agreed to step back in.”
Entek has also expanded its lead-acid sales team by adding Andrew Wimer as account manager for North America.
Since joining the company in 2011, Wimer has worked with the lithium group in quality and business development; in 2017 he transitioned to the lead-acid group where he implemented a change-management system for capturing, communicating and managing risk associated with process change.
Subsequently he took on the role of lead manager to help drive continuous improvement at Entek’s Oregon, US, manufacturing site.
