German high-tech equipment manufacturer Manz has secured an order for a lithium-ion battery production line worth €12million (US$13.5million).
The order, for lithium-ion battery machinery to produce stacked pouch cells, was taken from an unnamed US customer.
Under the terms of the deal, the customer has the option to add further production lines in both the US and China.
Dieter Manz, CEO and founder of Manz AG, said he predicts emobility will continue to grow as companies intensify their investment in the sector.
So far this year the German company has secured orders in the energy storage segment for around €100 million (US$112.4 million).
