MoU paves way for Australian firm to supply recycled battery materials to Korea

Envirostream Australia, a 24% owned subsidiary of Lithium Australia, has signed a lithium-ion battery materials offtake deal that includes recycled mixed metal dust (MMD) containing cobalt, nickel and lithium.

The memorandum of understanding with South Korean battery recycler SungEel Hitech involves the exclusive supply of metals extracted from recycled lithium-ion batteries out of Australia.

Dairy farm to use Australian Vanadium’s redox flow battery to harvest solar power

Vsun Energy, the wholly owned subsidiary of Australian Vanadium, is set to install a vanadium redox flow battery (VRFB) energy storage system at a dairy farm in Victoria, Australia.

The system will deliver at least four hours of supply while allowing the farm to eventually increase its onsite renewable generation and consumption to 100%.

Big lithium and lead-acid brands go head-to-head in Australian tests

Performance trials to test lithium-ion and lead-acid batteries in real world situations have begun in Australia.

Consulting firm ITP Renewables will test six lithium-ion battery brands, an advanced lead‑acid battery, and a conventional lead‑acid battery.
