US, Korea firms work together on Li-ion tech

US lithium-ion technology firm BioSolar has signed a joint development agreement with Li-ion battery manufacturer Top Battery from South Korea. The two companies plan to integrate their technologies to assess, develop and manufacture lithium products.

This agreement follows BioSolar’s announcement that it had successfully completed the laboratory phase of its silicon alloy nanocomposite anode material development with data suggesting it can achieve higher capacity with lowered costs.

Firm teams up with university to boost lithium-ion capabilities

Energy storage developer BioSolar has begun a sponsored research agreement with North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University to boost its lithium-ion battery investigation.

The company aims to increase the capacity, extend cycle-life, and reduce the cost of its lithium-ion batteries by strengthening the engineering efforts of its battery technology research.

Another day, another breakthrough

Yet another US developer claims a  “breakthrough energy storage technology ! Biosolar announced that the company is developing a breakthrough technology to significantly increase the capacity, lower the cost and extend the life of lithium-ion batteries.

Based on the company's internal analysis, a super battery built using its technology can double the range of a Tesla automobile, costs 4 times less, has faster charging time, longer life and can potentially break the $100/kWh cost barrier needed for mass market adoption of energy storage.
