Thai investor backs Enevate’s fast-charge tech

Thailand-based energy company Bangchak has made a “significant” undisclosed investment in US-based advanced lithium-ion battery tech developer Enevate.

CEO of California-based Enevate, Robert Rango, said the deal meant Bangchak becomes “an important partner in our mission to provide advanced battery technology that will help drive the growth of global EV markets with as little as five-minute charging times”.

Exide acquires Aker Wade to forge motive powerhouse

US-based lead-acid giant Exide Technologies has moved to tighten its grip on the motive power market by acquiring fast-charge tech pioneer Aker Wade Power Technologies.

Aker Wade designs and manufactures advanced charging systems for industrial forklifts— and the acquisition will see the firm’s chargers become part of Exide’s GNB Industrial Power battery portfolio.

Daimler joins investors in fast-charge firm StoreDot

Israeli start-up StoreDot has raised a further $60 million to support the scaling-up of its electric vehicle (EV) fast-charge FlashBattery technology in a third round of funding led by the truck division of Germany’s Daimler.

StoreDot has said previously it was in talks with European and Chinese car OEM’s about its technology.
