Magnis invests in US Li-battery tech firm

Australian graphite producer Magnis Resources said it is acquiring a 10% stake in US based lithium-ion battery technology group Charge CCCV (C4V).

In addition, Magnis has secured an “exclusive agreement over selective patents” which it said will boost the company’s growth in the lithium batteries sector.

Magnis signs separators deal with Celgard

Australian graphite producer Magnis Resources has inked a deal with lithium-ion separator firm Celgard for the supply of advanced separators to battery plants being built by Magnis and its development partners.

Magnis said the agreement covers battery plant projects in which it has a stake including those in New York, Australia and Germany.

Magnis to “fast track” new NY lithium plant

Australian graphite producer Magnis Resources is to “fast track” plans to build a lithium-ion battery plant in New York State after acquiring equipment and raw materials from a former battery site in North Carolina.

Magnis confirmed on 8 February it had completed a successful AUD5 million ($3.9m) capital raising to fund its share of the purchase of the former battery plant in North Carolina.

Australia’s Magnis takes 45% stake in German battery venture

Australian graphite producer Magnis Resources is to hold a 45% stake in a new company building a 30GWh lithium-ion battery manufacturing plant in Germany.

Plans to build the gigafactory in the state of North Rhine Westphalia were unveiled last year, with the signing of a memorandum of understanding by Magnis in a public-private partnership with WIN Emscher-Lipper— a consortium of firms including energy and chemicals companies, government agencies and financial institutions.
