Lithium-sulfur battery developer Oxis hires cell production manager for UK plant

Lithium-sulfur battery technology company Oxis Energy has hired Scott Davis to manage cell production at its new manufacturing plant in Wales.

Davis will manage the Oxford-based firm’s new facility at Kenfig Hill near Port Talbot, which is due to start producing cathode and electrolyte to support the production of 500,000 lithium-sulfur cells next year.

Panax to double electrolyte output within three years with second plant

Korean firm Panax Etec has finished building its second lithium-ion electrolyte manufacturing plant in Tianjin, China, according to Korean media.

The company plans to produce around 10,000 tons of electrolyte at the new plant by 2021 to take advantage of ‘Europe’s growing secondary battery market’.

Redflow selects Thailand for battery factory

Australian flow battery firm Redflow has chosen Thailand as the base for its new Southeast Asia manufacturing plant.

Redflow said in a 17 August Australian Stock Exchange announcement it had formed a new entity – Redflow (Thailand) Limited – to negotiate a lease on premises in a free trade zone and apply for licensing and regulatory permits.
