Li-Cycle reveals plans for $175 million lithium-ion battery recycling hub in New York

Canadian firm Li-Cycle is set to invest more than $175 million in its first commercial lithium-ion battery-recycling facility in New York.

Earmarked for Eastman Business Park (EBP) in Rochester, the Hub will be a hydrometallurgical facility that will refine battery-grade materials from 'black mass' generated from pre-processing spent lithium-ion batteries.

SungEel gains permit as its plans for New York lithium-ion recycling facility moves forward

SungEel MCC Americas has been issued a state permit for its planned lithium-ion battery recycling facility in Endicott, New York.

The Department of Environmental Conservation granted an air approval permit for the project, planned at the former site of the IBM manufacturing complex, according to WBNG.com, a news website for the area.

Zinc-air firm Zinc8 takes three positive steps toward securing its energy storage future

It was an interesting week for Canadian energy storage firm Zinc8 Energy Solutions with news it had settled a debt claim, reached a settlement with its former CEO and signed a deal to deploy zinc-air storage in New York.

Of all three announcements made on 11 March, arguably the most interesting was the deployment agreement with New York-based private sector developer Digital Energy Corp.
