Ablic has announced the commercial rollout of its Battery-less Water Leak Sensor in the US and EU markets.
The sensor uses Ablic’s proprietary CLEAN-Boost™ energy harvesting technology, which converts microwatt-level energy into electricity suitable for wireless data transmission.
Originally launched in Japan in 2019, the sensor has received positive feedback from over 80 customers. With FCC and CE certifications now secured, the product meets key safety and communication standards for deployment in Europe and the United States.
The Battery-less Water Leak Sensor is the world’s first capable of detecting even minute drops of water without relying on an external power source. This eliminates the need for battery replacement or complex installation, making it ideal for retrofitting into existing infrastructure. It also reduces environmental impact and maintenance costs.
For its international launch, Ablic has enhanced the leak sensor with double the communication range and an expanded operating temperature of up to 85°C, compared to the previous 60°C. These upgrades enable broader application in high-temperature environments.
Designed for use in facilities where water leaks pose operational risks – such as automotive, chemical, pharmaceutical and food processing plants – the sensor is also suited to ageing buildings and high-temperature server rooms. It can detect as little as three drops of water and supports ribbon connections up to 15m.
Key features include Bluetooth® Low Energy 5.0 connectivity, ultra-sensitive detection, and maintenance-free operation.
