Lithium-ion battery firm Advanced Cell Engineering (ACE) has hired Tom Madden as its chief technology officer (CTO) to oversee the development and deployment of its lithium iron phosphate technology.
Madden will oversee the development and structuring of ACE’s state-of-the-art laboratory due to be commissioned in Q4 this year.
He will also curate a team of scientists and engineers to continue to push Ace’s roadmap of battery technologies.
Madden previously served as CTO for sodium-ion battery firm BenAn Energy (based in China) and Aquion Energy (based in the US) as well as holding leadership positions with emerging technology firm Sun Catalytics, Primus Power and fuel cell company UTC Power.
In May, the start-up hired Tim Poor as its president to help commercialise the US firm’s battery technology.
Poor is leading the day-to-day operations for ACE, coordinating technology, sales and marketing teams to develop a “rapid go-to-market strategy” for the company.
