Ace Green Recycling has signed a multi-year supply agreement with Gold Star Metals (GSM) to secure a steady stream of master used lead-acid batteries (ULAB) for its upcoming recycling facility in Texas.
Under the deal, GSM will provide a minimum of 30,000 metric tons of used lead-acid batteries annually, with the potential to scale up to 100,000 metric tons as Ace expands operations. The batteries will be sourced from six southern states: Texas, Louisiana, Oklahoma, Kansas, Arkansas and New Mexico.
This strategic partnership strengthens Ace’s feedstock pipeline for its clean, zero-emissions recycling technology, which is set to be deployed at its flagship Texas plant in 2026. The facility will use proprietary processes that eliminate the need for traditional smelting, significantly reducing greenhouse gas emissions and environmental impact.
“This partnership is a major step in securing a stable and sustainable supply chain for our US operations,” said Siddharth Roy, business director at Ace Green Recycling. “Together, Ace and GSM share a commitment to building a zero-emissions future for the global recycling industry.”
Gold Star Metals, a key regional recycler and aggregator, brings deep expertise in battery collection and logistics. “Ace is a visionary when it comes to scaling environmentally friendly solutions for lead battery recycling,” said Parth Tanna, business manager at GSM.
