ADS‑TEC Energy closed 2025 with a series of new large‑scale BESS contracts across Germany and Austria, underlining rising demand for grid‑integrated storage solutions.
Battery energy storage agreements signed in December alone account for 20MW/40MWh, with all projects now moving into detailed planning.
CEO Thomas Speidel said, “Towards the end of the year, our battery energy storage business gained significant traction. These newly signed projects reflect the trust that energy utilities are placing in us. These businesses increasingly value companies with long-standing experience, proven references and strong technical execution capabilities, and, across the entire value chain, this is where we are well positioned.”
These latest wins expand ADS‑TEC Energy’s growing reference base, which includes systems operating since 2016 and the recently announced installation for Stadtwerke Ludwigsburg‑Kornwestheim (SWLB). SWLB has selected a BESS5000 unit rated at 5MWh to support its biomass power plant, strengthening grid stability while enabling participation in energy and ancillary service markets.
In Austria, the company completed its first major storage project at AAE Naturstrom in early December. A 5MWh BESS5000 system has been installed and commissioned on schedule, working alongside a photovoltaic array to store locally generated solar power, support flexible marketing, and feed electricity into the grid when required.
Another flagship development is a German project featuring a 1GW grid connection and 2GWh of storage, with potential expansion to 4GWh. “We are very satisfied with this project’s progress in 2025,” Speidel noted. “In 2026, we aim to reach ‘ready-to-build’ status.”
