Australian energy storage firm Aeson Power has launched its next-generation sodium-ion batteries at All Energy Australia 2025.
Following global success in automotive applications, Aeson’s polyanionic sodium-ion technology now targets off-grid, telecom and commercial sectors with three new systems: APSI2500, APSI2500-UPS and HaloDyne-HV.
Founded in 2015 and based in Melbourne, Aeson Power partners with Chinese battery manufacturer Xupai, leveraging over 30 years of experience and $1 billion in annual revenue.
“Our goal has always been simple – to create a new battery choice built to Australian and New Zealand standards,” said Scott Clark, sales and marketing manager–Oceania. “If it can perform here, it can perform anywhere in the world.”
Clark also welcomed Aeson’s first national distributor, DPA, which has tested the sodium-ion batteries in real-world Australian conditions.
The HaloDyne APSI2500 is designed for off-grid use, delivering over 5,000 cycles, a 10-year warranty and an operating range of –30°C to +80°C. Its 48V 50Ah rack-mount format requires no active cooling or fire suppression, and integrates with Deye, Noark, Victron Energy and Selectronic SP Pro inverters.
The StatoDyne APSI2500-UPS is tailored for telecom and standby applications, offering maintenance-free operation without BMS or firmware dependency. It safely discharges to 0V and recovers without risk.
For industrial users, the HaloDyne-HV 75/150 and 125/150 systems offer scalable storage up to 3MWh, with passive safety features suited to mining, commercial and remote deployments.
