Aggreko won the ‘Favourite Power Supply Company’ award at the Total Production International Awards 2013 in London at the end of February. Aggreko supplied back up power to many high profile events over the past year, including the London Olympic and Paralympic Games for which this award was given.
It comes after a successful 12 months of powering events including the Olympics, Silverstone Formula One, Moto Grand Prix, BBC Radio One’s Big Weekend festival, open air concerts in London’s Hyde Park, BMW Open Golf Championship and the Farnborough International Airshow.
Aggreko’s Managing Director for Northern Europe, Bruce Pool, said: “We were honoured to have played a central role in supporting the execution of some truly memorable events during 2012, in particular the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games, which allowed us to showcase the expertise of our UK operations on a global scale.”
During the Games, Aggreko supplied 550 generator sets for 260MW of power, along with 1500km of cabling and 5500 distribution panels across 39 venues.
The awards acknowledge and reward the achievements companies working within the events industry, candidates are nominated and then shortlisted for awards based on their levels of service.
