The Advanced Lead-Acid Battery Consortium (ALABC) is to be renamed the Consortium for Battery Innovation.
The move was announced at last week’s European Lead Battery Conference in Vienna – where ALABC director Dr Alistair Davidson said the move would reflect the “significant evolution” of the body’s role.
Davidson said the name change would “better reflect the cutting edge research we’re doing to enhance battery performance”.
“We’re also much more involved in talking to governments, higher education and other industries about the capabilities of lead battery technology and so the way we communicate needs updating to reflect that.”
“As an innovation hub, we should be sharing information and case studies about the many new energy storage facilities and projects supported by advanced lead batteries,” Davidson said.
