Indian lead-acid battery manufacturer Amaron will target further expansion in the European automotive aftermarket at Automechanika Frankfurt, Germany, on 8–12 September.
Amaron is the flagship automotive battery brand of Amara Raja Energy & Mobility. The company said it has annual production capacity exceeding 65 million automotive batteries and supplies products to more than 70 countries.
Its Frankfurt exhibit will concentrate on lead-acid products for automotive, commercial-vehicle and marine applications. These will include starting, lighting and ignition batteries alongside enhanced flooded batteries and absorbent glass mat batteries for passenger vehicles.
Amaron will also present deep-cycle and marine batteries for boats and yachts, as well as its Hiway range for trucks and other heavy-duty commercial vehicles.
Amaron to introduce its battery portfolio to European customers
The company said it would use the exhibition to introduce its battery portfolio to European customers and develop partnerships across the automotive supply chain. It has not announced specific sales targets, distribution agreements or new European production capacity.
Divakar Sukumaran, chief business officer for automotive international at Amara Raja Energy & Mobility, said: “Europe represents a significant growth opportunity for Amaron and an important chapter in our global expansion journey.
“Our participation at Automechanika Frankfurt is driven by a clear objective to introduce European customers and industry stakeholders to Amaron’s world-class battery technology and establish strong partnerships across the automotive value chain.”
While Amara Raja is expanding into lithium-ion cell manufacturing, battery-pack assembly and EV charging, the product range announced for Frankfurt remains centred on lead-acid technology.
