Amprius Technologies of the US said it entered into a three-year deal to supply ultra-high energy density lithium-ion batteries to UK arms company BAE Systems.
Amprius will initially supply BAE Systems’ Air business with lightweight high-energy batteries specifically developed for electrically powered flight applications.
The companies said they would investigate business opportunities arising from the use and supply of Amprius’ silicon nanowire anode batteries for electric products being developed by BAE Systems in the UK.
Amprius claims to produce the industry’s highest energy density cells.
