BESS analytics provider Twaice and Fullmark Energy, the energy storage company previously known as Hecate Grid, has announced a three-year partnership to install Twaice’s battery analytics platform at four BESS projects in southern California.
Twaice said its analytics tools are currently used at the 20MW/80MWh Johanna BESS project owned by Fullmark and will be installed at the other sites as they become commercially operational. The BESS sites will have a total duration of 290MWh when complete and will use the battery storage analytics to simplify operations, ensure CAISO compliance, and give lean teams complete visibility into performance.
These tools will provide state of charge (SoC) calculations, fleetwide monitoring, and recommendations from raw data, which includes pinpointing the causes of stranded energy to boost availability and revenue.
“We are excited to partner with Fullmark Energy in one of North America’s most critical energy markets,” said Lennart Hinrichs, executive vice president and general manager Americas, Twaice. “Fullmark’s southern California projects will play a vital role in ensuring grid reliability for the state. Our analytics enables Fullmark to run at peak performance while staying fully compliant with CAISO standards. We look forward to expanding our collaboration across Fullmark sites as they continue to set the standard as a leading independent power producer.”
“Gathering and analysing the data needed to truly understand our energy storage assets is a significant undertaking,” said Chris Swanson, director of performance engineering, Fullmark Energy. “With TWAICE, one person can manage an entire BESS while meeting CAISO power delivery requirements with an accurate SoC.”
