Metal recycling company Aqua Metals will supply lithium hydroxide for solid-state batteries after signing a deal with deep-cycle lithium-ion battery maker Dragonfly Energy.
A non-binding letter of intent stipulates that Dragonfly will purchase commercial quantities of lithium hydroxide from Aqua Metals.
The supply deal will support the development of Dragonfly’s solid-state lithium-ion battery technologies and future manufacturing activities.
Aqua Metals will also provide recycling services.
Dragonfly said it expects to begin production of its solid-state pilot line in 2023, with a supply of lithium hydroxide from Aqua Metals to commence at the time of full-scale manufacturing.
