Arotech Corporation, a US-based supplier of batteries and equipment for military and security industries, has received more than $2m worth of orders for batteries and chargers from two defense companies and manufacturers of military equipment.
The orders include working with one of the companies to develop lithium-ion batteries to replace existing lead-acid batteries currently in use in military vehicles. The company is developing a drop-in replacement that would match the dimensions of lead-acid but with a greater energy density and minimal maintenance requirements.
