Battery Council International’s (BCI) convention and Power Mart Expo is the latest in a series of conferences to be cancelled or postponed due to the coronavirus.
In the lead battery industry calendar, BCI is one of the most high-profile of the events forced to cancel in the past few weeks.
The decision to halt the April 26-28 event in Nevada, US, was taken because of the public health situation surrounding the Covid-19 pandemic.
A BCI spokesman said: “This is not a decision that was made lightly. BCI recognises how important the convention is to our members, suppliers and attendees.
“But the health and safety of our attendees is our utmost concern. Numerous factors forced us to conclude that it is impracticable to safely hold the event as scheduled.
Attendees that have already registered for the event, will be emailed with additional communications regarding next steps. Anyone who has booked hotel room reservations for the convention is advised to contact the hotel immediately to inform them of your changed travel plans.
The next BCI Convention + Power Mart Expo will be held between April 25-27, 2021 in Naples, Florida.
