Digatron Power Electronics founder and owner Rolf Beckers has been honoured for his work in the battery industry by Battery Council International (BCI).
Beckers, who founded Digatron 50 years ago— at the age of 20 in a workshop at his parents’ home— was presented with the 50th Year Award at BCI’s annual convention in Arizona. He is pictured (right) with Hal Hawk— president of BCI and the Crown Battery Company.
Over the past half-century, Digatron has expanded to encompass four manufacturing sites on four continents, around 14 global offices and some 300 employees.
Today, Digatron is one of the oldest active businesses in Germany that is still owned by its founder.
