The Batteries European Partnership Association (BEPA) is set to host an online policy webinar examining the implications of Europe’s proposed Industrial Accelerator Act for the battery sector, as part of its ongoing “Policy Talks” series.
The event, scheduled for 16-April 2026, will bring together stakeholders from across the European battery value chain to assess how emerging policy frameworks could shape industrial development, investment, and innovation in the region.
Organised under the BATT4EU Partnership umbrella, the webinar forms part of a broader programme aimed at strengthening Europe’s battery ecosystem through coordinated research, innovation and policy alignment. The partnership operates within the EU’s Horizon Europe framework and is tasked with supporting the development of a competitive and sustainable battery value chain by 2030.
According to the published agenda, the session will focus on regulatory and policy developments affecting the sector, with particular emphasis on how the Industrial Accelerator Act could influence manufacturing scale-up, supply chain resilience and funding mechanisms. The discussion is expected to include contributions from policymakers, industry representatives and research organisations.
BEPA giving guidance to battery stakeholders
The webinar builds on BEPA’s wider policy engagement activities, which aim to translate high-level EU strategies into actionable guidance for battery stakeholders. Previous events organised by the association have addressed topics including non-road mobility applications, energy density requirements and the integration of battery technologies into aviation, rail and maritime sectors.
More broadly, BEPA’s policy track is designed to complement its technical and innovation-focused workstreams by addressing regulatory bottlenecks and market barriers. These efforts are aligned with the partnership’s Strategic Research and Innovation Agenda, which identifies key technological challenges and funding priorities across the European battery landscape.
The upcoming webinar is open to industry participants, policymakers and researchers, and is expected to provide insights into how forthcoming legislation could accelerate – or constrain – Europe’s ambitions to build a globally competitive battery industry.
