Battery technology and metals firm Blackstone Resources has added four members to the advisory board of its wholly-owned subsidiary Blackstone Technology.
Joining as members of the advisory board as nonexecutive directors are: Dr. Franz Fink and Dr. Ulrich Ehmes as business and technology advisors, and
professor Arno Kwade and professor Jürgen Janek as scientific advisors.
The additions were made as Blackstone Technology prepares to scale up its operations in the 3D printing manufacturing process and production programme for its solid-state battery technology.
Dr. Fink is the former CEO of supercapacitor firm Maxwell Technologies, which was bought by Tesla in 2019 for $218 million.
Dr. Ehmes was brought in because of his experience in setting up the infrastructure for producing lithium-ion battery cells on a mass scale in his roles as the CEO/COO of Swiss lithium-ion battery manufacturer Leclanché SA.
Professor Kwade is from the Technical University of Braunschweig, Germany, where he is the head of the Institute for Mechanische Verfahrenstechnik (IMVT) and is leading the Institute of Particle Technology (iPAT).
Professor Kwade has developed applications for the design and manufacturing of electrodes used within lithium-ion battery cells.
Dr. Janek is professor of physical chemistry at the Justus University in Giessen, Germany, where he specializes in solid-state chemistry and electrochemistry, solid state reactions and atomic transportation processes.
