China’s CATL and battery energy storage system (BESS) company HGP Storage of Texas in the US announced an agreement on the supply of over 450 MWh of BESS.
Both parties have also agreed to enter into a long-term partnership to facilitate up to 5 GWh of utility-scale and distributed energy projects to meet Texas’s growing demand.
The project is scheduled to begin commercial operations in 2024. CATL said it will supply HGP with EnerC, its containerised liquid-cooling BESS. It has an IP55 rating and C5 anti-corrosion protection.
