At IAA Mobility 2025, CATL introduced Shenxing Pro, a lithium iron phosphate (LFP) battery designed to meet the evolving demands of Europe’s electric mobility sector.
Revealed during the CATL Open Day, Shenxing Pro is said to be the world’s first LFP battery to deliver sustained high-voltage output with no fire or smoke following thermal runaway – setting new standards in safety, range, lifespan and charging speed.
As EV adoption surges across Europe, Shenxing Pro directly addresses key consumer concerns which include battery longevity, range anxiety, infrastructure gaps and safety. CATL’s new LFP battery platform is engineered to overcome each of these barriers.
Powered by CATL’s proprietary NP 3.0 Technology, Shenxing Pro comes in two variants:
- Super long life and long range: Offering a 758km WLTP range and a 12-year/1,000,000km lifespan, with just 9% degradation after 200,000km, making it ideal for Europe’s leasing markets.
- Super-fast charging: Delivering 478km of range in 10 minutes and acceleration from 0–100km/h in 2.5 seconds at 20% SOC. It performs reliably in extreme cold, offering 410km in 20 minutes at –20°C.
Both variants feature CATL’s Wave cell architecture, enabling omnidirectional cooling and vibration suppression, boosting pack stiffness by 25% and doubling durability. The design achieves 76% pack volume efficiency, breaking traditional CTB limitations.
“Shenxing Pro seamlessly fuses world-class safety standards with mobility needs, delivering a safer, more efficient, and carefree experience for every journey,” said Dr Lingbo Zhu, CTO of CATL’s International Business Unit.
