UK power generation packaging specialist Centrax is celebrating the sale of three gas turbine gensets in France.
Two CX501-KB7 units have been ordered by DALKIA. The first is for the Omnitherm district heating plant in Valence, near Lyon, where the new 5.2 MW package is replacing two existing KB7s that have been in service since 2000 and have reached the end of their 12-year contract with utility EDF.
The second unit will equip the Gie Evry district heating plant in the south-west of Paris, replacing a Turbomeca TM5000 that Centrax has maintained for the past seven years.
The second French customer to select the CX501-KB7 is the energy company COFELY. Its new KB7 is destined for the Chambery plant of gypsum producer Placoplatre, where it will be used for direct drying of gypsum. It replaces a TM5000 with 12 years of past service.
Centrax will deliver all three units this summer for installation and commissioning in time for the start of the French winter heating season on November 1.
