US-based lithium-battery firm A123 Systems has announced a leadership change with the appointment of Peter Cirino (pictured) as CEO.
Cirino, who has run A123’s Europe operations since 2016, succeeds Jason Forcier.
A123 said Forcier, who had held the post for the past four years, had left the company in late August. The company did not comment on the reasons for Forcier’s departure, but chairman Thomas Corcoran thanked Forcier for his service.
Corcoran said Cirino is “a transformational leader” who also has extensive experience of the Asia Pacific region.
A123 is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Chinese automotive components manufacturer Wanxiang Group.
In April, A123 announced plans to invest $40 million in building a new corporate HQ, manufacturing centre and engineering base in Novi, Michigan.
