The revolution in Electric Vehicle charging is step closer this week after wireless power transfer company WiTricity signed a technology and patent license agreement with CTEK Corporation.
Under the terms of this licensing agreement, CTEK will develop and bring to market wireless charging based on WiTricity technology for automotive and recreational vehicle battery systems.
Massachusetts, US based CTEK develops and manufactures battery chargers for lead-acid and lithium batteries for both private and professional use.
The battery charging systems company has sold more than 6.2 million battery chargers in 70 countries, and supplies car and motorcycle manufacturers.
CTEK CEO, Jon Lind said: “CTEK is adopting WiTricity’s technology to revolutionise battery charging by removing the need for cables in a wide range of automotive, industrial, and recreational vehicle battery systems, eliminating the need for our customers to plug in.”
