Cummins, in partnership with AVS Aggregatebau, is supplying 1,500 generator sets to the German armed forces for use in remote locations.
1,200 25 kVA units and 300 50 kVA units of the lightweight compact Stamford generators will be supplied, which will be suitable for both AC and DC outputs.
The Stamford generators have the ability to operate in extreme temperatures between -34oC and 55oC making them ideal for military applications. This model offers improved fuel efficiency over the generators they are replacing for a lower cost of ownership. Other benefits include low noise, Nuclear Electro-Magnetic Pulse (NEMP) protection and parallel operation of up to eight generators.
