The International Lead Medal has been posthumously awarded to David Boden, the British-born research electrochemist who died last year.
Boden (pictured) was announced as the recipient of the International Lead Association’s accolade at last week’s European Lead Battery Conference (ELBC) in Vienna.
The Award, first presented in 2003, goes to individuals who have made a major contribution to the lead and battery industries over many years.
In the last two decades, Boden was closely associated with Hammond Engineering and the Advanced Lead Acid Battery Consortium.
Mark Stevenson, of Australia’s Global Lead Technologies, told ELBC Boden had been under consideration to receive the award for some time before his death.
