DG Matrix and Skeleton Technologies have announced a strategic technical and commercial collaboration aimed at supporting the data centre industry’s move towards 800 VDC power infrastructure.
The partnership will combine Skeleton’s high-power, fast-response energy storage systems with DG Matrix’s galvanically isolated Interport™ multi-port solid-state transformer (SST) platform. The solutions cover the Interport CM medium-voltage SST skid, which converts 12–34.5 kV AC directly to high-voltage DC, alongside the Interport CL sidecar for managing GPU pulse loads in the white space and Interport Flex, an outdoor grey-space system that can be skid-mounted and connected in parallel as part of the Interport 360 solution.
The companies are targeting a key challenge facing AI data centres: repeated, high-intensity power pulses from GPU clusters. These demands can exceed the dynamic response capabilities of the grid, as well as those of conventional uninterruptible power supply and battery systems.
Skeleton’s systems are designed to respond from microseconds to minutes, absorbing peak loads before they reach upstream infrastructure. DG Matrix’s Interport platform manages power flow in real time between AC and DC sources, loads and storage across multiple voltage levels.
The combination is intended to help manage load transients, support fault ride-through and provide backup power with the response speed and cycle life required by AI workloads.

Research from SemiAnalysis forecasts around 39 GW of additional AI data centre capacity will use 800 VDC architecture by 2030, with the SST market estimated at approximately $13 billion. DG Matrix’s Interport platform and Skeleton’s GrapheneCBU800 and GrapheneBBU800 systems are designed for the same voltage class.
