Battery test and formation firm Digatron Power Electronics has announced the latest in a string on managerial changes as it pushes into the global lithium-ion and lead-acid markets.
Last month, Digatron promoted He Zhou to general manager charged with strengthening, growing and developing the company’s China subsidiary Digatron (Qingdao) Electronics.
The promotion comes after just two years with the German firm, and was made in recognition of his ‘remarkable contributions’ to the company’s business in China as a project manager.
A Digatron statement said the management believed Zhou’s work experience in Germany, and his Chinese background, could ‘perfectly coordinate the differences between Eastern and Western cultures’ to make the company operate more efficiently in the Chinese market.
In October, the company hired Marcus Peng as director of sales for its US subsidiary Digatron, USA.
Operating out of Conneticut, Peng will have primary responsibility for the US West Coast with special emphasis on the automotive sector and be key in the growth of its production formation system sales.
He will also assist Digatron’s CEO Kevin Campbell and its Qingdao operations as requested to drive growth in the electric vehicle market in China and Korea.
Nick Hennen, VP of the USA manufacturing facility, said: “He is someone well-known and respected in the lithium battery industry and has relationships with some of the key people associated with electric transportation.”
In September, Marc Thielmanns was appointed as vice president Sales and Marketing and Friedrich Grupe was hired as vice president for Project & Product Management.
Both are based at the company’s headquarters in Aachen, Germany.
Thielmanns returns to Digatron where he was previously sales manager for the Asian Market, between 2002 and 2008. He will be responsible for the strategic direction of sales and marketing.
He will be supported by the project management, which will be headed by Grupe.
