Donut Lab has introduced what it calls the world’s first all‑solid‑state battery ready for immediate OEM integration.
Revealed at CES 2026, the technology is already scheduled to power all 2026 Verge Motorcycles, with bikes on the road in Q1 2026.
Donut Lab positions itself as a driving force in electrification, pushing performance boundaries while delivering technology that reaches real‑world production. Its latest breakthrough marks a significant milestone: a solid‑state battery designed not for prototypes, but for full‑scale manufacturing. Verge’s current lineup will be powered by the new innovation, including the TS Pro and Ultra models.
“While the advantages are obvious, the future of solid-state batteries has been a moving target constantly delayed,” said CEO Marko Lehtimäki. “At Donut Lab, our answer on solid-state batteries being ready for use in OEM production vehicles is now, today, not later.”
The battery offers 400Wh/kg energy density, rapid five‑minute full charging, and a lifespan of up to 100,000 cycles with minimal degradation. Safety is central to the design, with no flammable electrolytes, no thermal runaway, and no dendrite formation. Tests show capacity retention above 99% from –30°C to over 100°C.
Constructed from abundant and geopolitically stable materials, the battery also promises lower costs than lithium‑ion. Its adaptable form factor enables unconventional applications, from drone bodies to structural vehicle components.
