Lektra has announced a strategic partnership with EG4 Electronics to merge EG4’s advanced battery systems with Lektra’s distributed AI infrastructure to deliver a pioneering solution: batteries with integrated micro data centre capabilities.
Lektra is the innovator behind the world’s first patented distributed data centres powered by distributed energy and EG4 Electronics is a leading solar and energy storage manufacturer.
Under the agreement, EG4 will join Lektra’s Series A funding round and license Lektra’s patented IP, gaining exclusive distribution rights during the development phase. This enables EG4 to offer a unified solution – energy storage that also supports distributed cloud computing and artificial intelligence services at the edge.
“We are excited to work with EG4’s hardware team and management to deliver a superior battery with distributed artificial intelligence capabilities,” said Karl Andersen, CEO of Lektra. “We believe in a distributed energy and AI marketplace that allows ratepayers to get more money from their own energy while building resilience into the grid.”
EG4 CEO James Showalter added, “Lektra is pushing the boundaries of edge compute, allowing residential solar customers to benefit directly from the explosive growth of AI data centres. We’re thrilled to be selected by Lektra as their partner for storage solutions.”
