Canadian firm Electrovaya and its wholly owned subsidiary, Litarion, has launched a 40Ah lithium -on cell for OEM and battery pack applications.
The Litacell-LC40 uses the company’s Separion(TM) flexible ceramic separator membrane to helps the cell reach almost 9000 cycles at 1C/1C and 100% DoD, according to the Ontario-based firm.
The cells use an optimised NMC/graphite based electrode chemistry.
“We believe this technology should become the industry standard for the Electric Vehicle and Energy Storage markets,” said Dr. Rajshekar Das Gupta, Vice President Business Development at Electrovaya
Electrovaya, through its fully owned subsidiary, Litarion GmbH, also produces cells, electrodes and SEPARION(TM) ceramic separators and has manufacturing capacity of about 500MWh/annum.
