Emerson has acquired Avtron Loadbank, a producer of load banks and other testing systems and services for standby power generation, uninterruptible power supply (UPS) and other power equipment industries.
Avtron has an experience of 50 years in this field and has been providing complete solution for testing power supply systems which includes advanced data acquisition, control, and monitoring technologies. The terms of the deal have not been disclosed.
The business will be merged with Emerson’s ASCO Power technologies brand, under the Network Power segment. “Avtron Loadbank’s product range and global footprint complement Emerson Network Power very well,” said Scott Barbour, executive vice president and business leader for Emerson Network Power.
“We are increasing the peace of mind data centre managers can have, giving them the assurance that their facility will stay up and running,” Barbour said, adding that it also helps bring Emerson into the design and build phase earlier in important project development.
“The acquisition is a perfect fit with our existing services network, expanding the touch points we’re able to provide data center managers,” said Armand Visioli, President of Emerson Network Power’s ASCO business. Jeff Gwinnell, President of Avtron Loadbank, added: “The combination of Avtron Loadbank with Emerson Network Power represents an exciting opportunity for further growth. We see terrific potential to broaden our customer base even further and offer the best products in the industry to customers worldwide.”
