EnerDel has supplied and commissioned a 1.5 MW, 2.5 MWh energy storage system in Sochi, Russia, for the 2014 Olympic Winter Games.
The energy storage system will provide back up power for the utility infrastructure around the southern Russia city hosting the Games between 7 and 23 February 2014.
Engineers worked with local and international partners to have the energy storage system installed commissioned ahead of the 7 February opening ceremony.
EnerDel has also built, delivered, and commissioned an identical 1.5 MW, 2.5 MWh energy storage system in the city of St. Petersburg.
Almost 3000 athletes from 85 countries are expected to compete in the Games.
