Lead-acid battery maker Enersys has signed a four-year deal to supply its Odyssey AGM batteries to trucks and bus manufacturer Navistar.
The agreement covers the supply of the batteries for OE on International-branded trucks, and all-makes aftermarket replacement batteries sold by International Truck dealers under the Fleetrite Platinum Plus brand.
Enersys America president Jeff Long said the agreement “formalises a strategic partnership with Navistar to supply premium AGM batteries for both OE production, as well as its dealer after-market programme”.
“We are increasingly seeing that fleets value the benefits of Odyssey premium AGM batteries for their reliability and longevity.”
Enersys said the pure lead plates used in Odyssey batteries are manufactured with proprietary thin plate pure lead technology and made thinner, allowing for more to fit in the battery. “The increased number of plates results in more surface area, increased power and massive deep cycling capability.”
