UK battery technology company Eqonic has launched a mobile battery energy storage range and a portable power station, targeting temporary site power, off-grid applications and backup supply.
Both products use lithium iron phosphate (LFP) batteries. The EQ Power mobile range offers three capacity and rated power combinations: 69.12kWh/30kW, 125.9kWh/60kW and 261.2kWh/125kW. The smaller EQ Portable Power E3840 has a 3.84kWh battery and up to 3.6kW AC output.
Mobile power for construction, events and field operations
The EQ Power systems are designed for construction sites, events, emergency building backup and field operations. They can operate independently or alongside diesel and hydrogen generators, with grid charging and solar input available within the range. Multiple units can be linked to serve larger sites.
Eqonic said using an EQ Power system alongside a diesel generator had reduced fuel consumption by up to 60% in a construction case study. The release did not identify the site or provide details of the operating conditions or comparison period.
The mobile systems have IP55-rated enclosures, built-in fire protection and cooling. They weigh between 1,012kg and 2,500kg and can be loaded onto a truck or trailer using standard site equipment. Optional heavy-duty wheels are available.
The wheeled E3840 portable unit targets tradespeople, outdoor users and households requiring backup power. It weighs 40kg and measures 630 x 313 x 467mm, with 10 ports including USB-C offering up to 100W Power Delivery.
According to Eqonic, the portable system can recharge from the mains in around three hours and also accepts solar charging at up to 2kW or charging from a vehicle’s 12V socket. It offers a claimed uninterruptible power supply switchover time of less than 10 milliseconds, while an app allows users to monitor remaining charge.
Jas Kandola, founder and CEO of Eqonic Group, said the launches responded to customer demand: “On the industrial side, they kept telling us the same thing: generators are noisy, expensive to run, and a headache to keep fed with fuel – especially on sites in the middle of nowhere.”
Both products are available now in the UK and have been configured for UK and European markets, the company said.
