Nanotechnology firm OCSiAl is planning to open a lithium-ion battery graphene nanotube synthesis facility with a 40 MT/y capacity near Belgrade, Serbia.
When opened in the first half of 2023, the facility will become the core of the firm’s graphene nanotube industrial hub, and will be accompanied by production lines for various polymers and nanotube dispersions.
The firm will deliver its European-produced nanotubes and nanotube industrial solutions to the Americas, European and Asia-Pacific markets.
The facility will be accompanied by the production lines of more than 40 nanotube-based concentrates and dispersions designed to simplify industrial handling of nanotubes and will be launched in sequence in 2022-2023.
The facility will use OCSiAl’s production technology, which is protected by more than 80 patents and patent applications.
The Serbian facility will be complemented by a larger nanotube manufacturing facility in Differdange, Luxembourg, in 2025.
