Sales of electric vehicles rose by 55% last year in France with a total of 8770 vehicles sold.
The best selling model was the Renault Zoe, sales of which reached 5511, or a 62.8% share of the EV market. The figures are up from 5663 EVs in 2012.
The Nissan Leaf was the second highest seller, with 1438 registered. The Leaf is followed by the Bollore Bluecar, which sold 658 cars.
Electric vans sales rose year on year from 3651 in 2012 to 5175 in 2013– an increase of 42%. Hybrid sales are also looking up, 46785 new hybrids were registered on the roads– an increase of 60% on the previous year.
