IERC is a circular-economy congress for the electronics reuse and recycling chain. Although its remit is wider than batteries, portable electronics, embedded cells, critical raw materials and safe treatment make it directly relevant to battery collection and recycling.
The event brings together electronics manufacturers, recyclers, reuse and repair organisations, collection schemes, materials suppliers, processors, equipment companies, regulators and researchers. Its programme considers product design, take-back, treatment technologies, material recovery, transboundary movement, regulation and the economics of extending product and material life. An exhibition and plant or site visits typically complement the conference, providing a practical view of processing and sorting technology. ICM says the 2027 event will attract more than 300 international professionals and up to 45 exhibition booths. The 25th congress is scheduled for 20-22 January in Valencia, Spain.
