Vietnam’s dominant motorcycle market has driven remarkable growth in the lead-acid battery sector. Chinese manufacturers have established local production bases, contributing to Vietnam’s emergence as a major exporter, accounting for 23.29% of US lead-acid battery imports in 2024. However, this expansion faces a critical constraint: with domestic smelting capacity unable to keep pace, Vietnam currently relies on importing 100,000–150,000 metric tonnes of lead ingots annually.
