Solid-state lithium-ion battery developer Factorial Energy has appointed Chinese vehicle maker Stellanis’ senior vice-president, head of global propulsion systems to its board of directors.
Michael Bly joins the board in connection with Stellantis’ strategic investment in Factorial announced in January.
Bly was chosen because of his automotive experience and expertise in drivetrains and electric vehicles, which it is hoped will guide Factorial’s move from the laboratory to commercial production of its technology.
Bly leads propulsion systems engineering supporting Stellanis’ electrification roadmap and was previously head of engine and electrified propulsion engineering at the firm.
Bly spent 23 years in engineering positions at General Motors, which included powertrain and vehicle electrification.
