Shanghai-based energy storage company GoodWe introduced its new residential ESA-Series All-in-One devices during a launch event in Amsterdam, Netherlands, yesterday. The company emphasised the devices’ silent and smart operation supported by advanced safety features and simple installation. The series combines a high-performance inverter, storage modules and an intelligent energy management system for complete control of residential energy needs. The company says It’s also the world’s first to earn a Grade A Low-Noise Certification.
GoodWe will be exhibiting the ESA-Series at the Solar Solutions Amsterdam exhibition and launching it across Europe in March 2026.
During the launch event, the manufacturer presented an in-depth look at their design approach. They emphasised the product’s key characteristics introduced under the 4S concept: silent, smart, secure and simple.
Given sound is a major concern for integrating technology into homes, the ESA-Series achieves a low claimed operating noise of just 30dB*. This is thanks to custom low-noise fans, real-time adaptation to operating conditions and a user-activated ultra-quiet mode.
The ESA-Series has achieved a “world’s first” by receiving the “Highest Grade Low-Noise Performance Certification” from TÜV Rheinland. The certificate was handed over during the launch event in Amsterdam yesterday.
“It does not matter how efficient and innovative a new technology is, if it is inconvenient and noisy. With the ESA, GoodWe managed to bring both high-tech and user-centric design together. We see a huge demand for smart energy that integrates seamlessly into people’s homes, and we are excited to support our partners and customers with this new product,” said Max Zhou, regional director of GoodWe.
GoodWe’s app integration
The recently introduced SEMS+ app, built into both the device and management software, offers intelligent operation. This Smart Energy Management System combines product management, comprehensive generation and consumption data visuals and optional AI-supported operation. It helps customers maximise their electricity contracts alongside local generation storage and connected loads. Furthermore, the app fully supports smart power import and export management when paired with GoodWe’s residential AI solution EZManager3000.
GoodWe’s strategy concentrates on interconnection and smart power system operation. The EZManager3000 serves as a central hub, integrating over 13 device categories. This includes both the GoodWe ecosystem and compatible third-party equipment. The SEMS+ app offers “clear and intuitive” visibility into connected assets.
GoodWe’s three-phase ESA-Series inverters come in various power levels from 5kW to 30kW. These inverters support up to four MPPTs and can connect to three to six strings for photovoltaic input depending on the system configuration. The inverter unit can be paired with up to 12 battery modules, offering a maximum energy storage capacity of 108kWh. Battery modules are easily combined and expanded and are available in 5 or 8kWh capacities with 1C charging/discharging or 6 or 9kWh capacities with 0.5C charging/discharging.
Up to six ESA three-phase systems can operate in parallel on- and off-grid, making it well suited for both residential and small commercial and industrial applications.
“Our installer partners are increasingly asking for systems that are easier to install and manage. The ESA series was designed with exactly these needs in mind. With a robust exterior, removable handles and reasonable weight, the system stacks as easy as legos.” said David Wijnandts, key account manager at GoodWe Benelux.
Due to the system architecture, installation takes just 10 minutes. It is plug-and-play at the pack level and offers quick and easy installation of CT and dual-port design without the need for an external STS. This makes it faster and simpler than traditional residential energy storage systems.
Support for two 21A per string photovoltaic (PV) inputs and up to 200% PV oversizing allows the system to be paired with the latest high-power modules. This enables it to capture more solar energy, benefiting modern households. At 200% PV input, the integrated system achieves 100% battery charging and 100% AC output simultaneously, maximising self-consumption.
For product safety, GoodWe has implemented its six-layer safety architecture. This system offers protection from cell to system level. The safety mechanisms include battery management thermal monitoring fire protection and electrical protection such as Type I+II surge protection (SPD). In emergencies, integrated pressure relief and aerosol-based fire extinguishing provide additional system safety.
The ESA-Series supports full backup operation with a switching time below 4ms for seamless electricity during a grid-outage. Models with up to 20 kW offer 63 A bypass current for backup loads, the higher power models with 25 to 30 kW offer up to 80 A, enough to meet the demand of most homes.
