US battery technology developer Gridtential Energy has announced a corporate rebrand to SiliconJoule as part of a broader strategy to accelerate commercialisation of its silicon-based bipolar battery platform.
Chief executive Ray Kubis said the company will operate publicly under the name SiliconJoule from 1 March 2026. While the legal entity will remain Gridtential Energy, Inc., the business will adopt the new brand across its website, email domains and marketing materials, alongside a new corporate logo.
SiliconJoule: from product name to brand name
The SiliconJoule name has previously referred to the company’s proprietary technology platform, which uses treated silicon wafers in advanced bipolar battery designs. This includes its recently introduced 24V GC2+ battery product.
In parallel with the rebrand, SiliconJoule confirmed plans to relocate its battery design and pilot operations from California to the US Midwest as it enters a commercial growth phase. The move is intended to bring the company closer to strategic partners in next-generation power and hybrid energy storage systems, while improving access to supply chain infrastructure.
Final discussions are under way regarding potential sites in Indiana and Ohio, with a location decision expected shortly.
The company’s joint assembly line with East Penn Manufacturing in Pennsylvania for the 24V GC2+ battery is continuing to expand to support rising production volumes and customer deployments.
SiliconJoule also announced plans to grow its engineering and supply chain teams, with recruitment focused on senior mechanical engineers, particularly those with battery sector experience, and supply chain specialists with expertise in silicon wafer processing or advanced materials manufacturing.
The company said the strategic initiatives are designed to unify its brand around its core technology and strengthen its position as it moves towards broader market deployment of its bipolar battery systems.
