GS Yuasa has introduced the SWL+ series – its latest development in VRLA battery technology. Designed for high-rate discharge and standby applications, SWL+ builds on the established performance of the original SWL range while responding to increasing demands in sectors such as UPS and energy storage.
Central to the new design is Hybrid Pure Lead technology, combining primary pure lead with recycled alloy components to improve corrosion resistance and energy density. The inclusion of HT Element X Alloy™ is intended to reduce grid corrosion and water loss, particularly in high-temperature environments, supporting a 12-year design life even under standard ambient conditions.
The series offers a 15-year design life, aimed at reducing maintenance cycles and long-term replacement costs. Applications range from data centres and industrial sites to infrastructure requiring stable power delivery under demanding conditions.
“We’ve powered Europe’s skylines and critical infrastructure for decades,” said Andrew Taylor, CEO and managing director, GS Yuasa Battery Europe. “Now, the best just got better. The SWL+ series offers extended service life, improved high-rate discharge performance, and advanced technologies – all while maintaining seamless drop-in compatibility with existing SWL systems. It is a direct reflection of our commitment to continuous innovation and our customers’ evolving power needs.”
