Shenzen-based Highpower International has been awarded a contract by state-owned China Southern Power Grid (CSPG) to deliver an ESS system to balance out the supply to the South China grid.
Highpower’s 100kWh ESS comes with LiFePO4 batteries and has a 500V, 200 Ah capacity with 60KW maximum output power.
CSPG invests, constructs and operates power networks in the regions of Southern China where power plants take advantage of grid integrated ESS to cope with fluctuating energy demand.
Purchasing this system is part of a long-term energy storage project developed by CSPG, delivery is expected to be completed by the end of the month.
While financial terms of the agreement were not disclosed, the contract is expected to be filled, with all batteries and battery management system (BMS) delivered, by the end of May 2015.
This ESS system is designed to maintain a balance of supply and demand over the south China grid as part of a long-term energy storage project developed by CSPG.
GSPG invests, constructs and operates power networks in regions of south China and is one of the largest utility suppliers in the world. This order makes up a critical part of their energy storage station.
