Himoinsa is launching a range of gensets for the Asia-Pacific that feature engines made by Chinese manufacturer, Wuxi Diesel, a subsidiary of automotive and truck manufacturer FAW Group.
The Spanish manufacturer produces its own range of Chinese-built gensets at a factory in Changzhou but will market the Wuxi Diesel-made gensets as a lower cost engine for the Asia-Pacific market.
The engines will be branded Himoinsa and supported and serviced by Himoinsa in the same way as with its other gensets.
“We are talking about a two-digit price reduction”, Mr Inglés told Himoinsa’s Asia Pacific dealers at a meeting in Spain at the end of September, “We will make it competitive.”
The engines could also be sold into other market regions that do not require low engine emissions.
The range comprises seven 50 Hz models in 20 to 100 kVA sizes and seven 60 Hz versions from 32 to 123 kVA. Gensets up to 200 kVA are also being developed.
